PHP - Insert Into Text Box With Invalid Characters
hi, is there a way that i can insert into a mysql text box even if there is unsupported characters in the field.
for instance, if i want to insert: When I arrived onsite, the cable for usb to ps/2 wasn't with the pc anymore. I need to get a usb to ps/2 cable, as well as a dvi to vga adapter. I will return tomorrow to finish. and i want to keep the invalid characters like the /, and i also want to keep it on 3 seperate lines. can this be done? Similar TutorialsI want to allow Alphabetical strings, Numeric strings, and Alphanumeric strings. For example "Bob", "1234", "bob1234" are all valid. I want to check if the string has invalid characters, return true if it does (or false, which ever method works). How can I do it? When our members try to insert text from other sources, some of the markup gets transformed into special characters. We think this is caused by the transition from rich text editors to our text areas. Any idea how to fix this? Most are just copy/pasteing from Word, and they need to be able to include single quotes. (ie: John's favorite store is Micky's) I can't figure out how to make the single quotes (') into double quotes ('') so MSSQL will insert them in. Any help? I'm missing something here. I have a form, and when the submit is pressed, the relevant post data inserts into table one, then I want the last insert id to insert along with other form data into a second table. The first table's still inserting fine, but I can't get that second one to do anything. It leapfrogs over the query and doesn't give an error.
