PHP - Extract Element From Xml String Using Php

I have  string like this (without the spaces)

[ QUOTE="Adrock"]This is a test message[/QUOTE ]

How do i get just what is between the double quotes taking into account in the message there could be double quotes?

I've tried this but it doesn't echo anything unless i put the square brackets in but i want the username

$origauth = html_entity_decode($message);

$b = substr($origauth, strpos($origauth, '&#034') + 1); 

$c = substr($b, 0, strpos($b, '&#034')); 

echo $c;

I need to extract the digits before the alphabet d after the second last  path f39/
In the above case the number extracted would be 745.

Can anyone help me output "Zinfandel|Sauvignon Blanc" from "This very nice wine is produced in California and is made from Zinfandel and Sauvignon Blanc grapes."? Please also notice the case insensitivity. I prefer the output with capitals on first words.    I created the following code :

I am not able to find any function that will sort an array elements by its element's length. Does such function exist?

So I have been working on my website for a while which all is php&mysql based, now working on the social networking part building in similar functions like Facebook has. I encountered a difficulty with getting information back from a link. I've checked several sources how it is possible, with title 'Facebook Like URL data Extract Using jQuery PHP and Ajax' was the most popular answer, I get the scripts but all of these scripts work with html links only. My site all with php extensions and copy&paste my site links into these demos do not return anything . I checked the code and all of them using file_get_contents(), parsing through the html file so if i pass 'filename.php' it returns nothing supposing that php has not processed yet and the function gets the content of the php script with no data of course. I am trying to make some adjustments to uploadify.php which comes with the latest version of uploadify (3.0 beta), so that it works with a session variable that stores the login username and adds it to the path for uploads.  Here is uploadify.php as it currently looks:

echo $targetFolder; at the bottom so that I could make sure that the string returned was correct, and it is, i.e. '/songs/nick'.  For some reason though, uploads are not going to the correct folder, i.e. the username folder, but instead are going to the parent folder 'songs'.  The folder for username exists, with correct permissions, and when I manually enter Code: [Select]
$targetFolder = '/songs/nick';all works fine.  Which strikes me as rather strange.  I have limited experience of using php, but wonder how if the correct string is returned by the session variable, the upload works differently than with the manually entered string.

Any help would be much appreciated.  It's the last issue with a website that was due to go live 2 days ago!

So I make a colum in my table called "friends"

Is there a way to update using mysql that colum for each user, so let's say friend 1 adds friends 2 with the id of 25

so the query puts the id "25" into the friends column, then if friend 1 adds friend 5 with the id of 26 it puts "26" into the friends column and so on...

So it would have like commas in the colum, 25,26,30,31,31 and all those represent the id's of the person who is wanting to add people to his friends list!


If so how do I accomplish that, and then what If I want to use mysql to list all those id's and Code: [Select]
SELECT name,avatar,etc from userstable WHERE id = "25,26,3,31,31"
Is this even possible or am i thinking to harD?

Hello all,

I'm trying to change the end of a javascript call based on the end of the url string. The common part of all the url strings is sobi2Id=, I'm trying to do this with strstr but am having no luck. I'm new to php so my syntax knowledge is terrible!

at the moment i've got

but this returns an unexpected T_STRING, expecting ',' or ';'

Can anyone debug this? I may well be being really silly!
