PHP - If File_exists For Calling A Xml File
I want to get suggested keywords from yahoo api service. When xml file is empty (no keyword), it gives error. To resolve this problem I used this code:

Thanks I'm working on a WordPress theme and I'm trying to build in a simple if statement which will check if the user has add his own logo into the images folder if he doesn't then the name of the blog will appear as normal text in place of the graphic logo. So it calls a function to clear the cache, which works fine (and I've tried just deleting the cache files manually anyway). Then it checks if we are even caching, i.e. if cache time is greater than 0. Then it uses the BASE64-encoded REQUEST_URI (under which name the file would have been cached previously) to check if a file with that name still exists in the cache dir, and if so loads it. Now, this works perfectly with a url like: mysite/myscript/mysubpage But when the page has parameters, like: mysite/myscript/mysubpage?search=widgets the file_exists function returns TRUE, even though the directory is empty. I did do a clearstatcache(); but it made no difference and anyway, it wouldn't explain why the URI with query string would fail while the regular one would not. And even if something is wrong with my code elsewhere, the fact is it is returning TRUE for a non-existent file. Can someone prevent my slide into insanity?! Hi, I wrote this to retrieve a file based on a POST value. For some reason it will not retrieve the file content and display it at all. I get this message: Warning: fopen(18.txt) [function.fopen]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/x/y/z/path/html/includes/different.php The 18 is the correct POST value. I click the button and nothing happens. What am I missing? Hi guys, I hope you may be able to shed some light on a problem I am having. I am fairly new to PHP although do understand bits and peices such as login system. Basically - I have a website with lets say 10 users (more like 500 but that will do for now!) - Each user has their own page wich is password protected. Each month - I want to be able to upload PDF files to the server - which CAN ONLY BE ACCESSED BY THE RELEVANT user. They must not be able to see each others PDF files. To do this I have been advised to have a non-web accessible folder on my server to put the PDF's in and then use PHP to handle the operation. Therefore my path would be: 1/ User logs into page 2/ User clicks the PDF link 3/ PF link goes to PHP page that checks they are logged in and then the PDF they want before delivering to the server. I do actually understand the theory but my PHP is not at the stage where I can just write the code that will handle the operation. I am also very confused over how to access the non-web accessible files! Could anyone please give me an example of the code I will need to use to a) check the user is logged in (I guess I can use the same code I used for the login) and then b) call the relevant PDF and display it? I have been given a path of c:\blahblahblah to access my PDF files but don't even know how to begin implimenting this! Here is the code I use for my login system. I've read as many previous posts as I can find and tried all the suggested solutions but the following simple test code will not work for me (the session variable has been echoed and is correct). Instead of echoing the correct answer, the if(file_exists($target_file)) skips the true result and always displays the false one. I've tested it with files that do and don't exist of course. It always returns 'FALSE' , according to my understanding it happening because the file to be checked on the given url is located in safe mode. I am calling a php file on another server using Code: [Select] <script type="text/javascript" src="http://www.website.com/test/file.php"></script> I have the correct type header in my php file and the php outputs JS. example Code: [Select] echo "document.write(\"some stuff\");"; that kind of thing happens alot I also have it outputting a few JS functions, example Code: [Select] echo 'function dostuff(){ stuff }'; the problem I am having is when I add the JS call to the page that calls the php it does nothing I am using document.ready I am not really sure where to go from here, I know php well enough to do anything I need but I do not know JS at all I can not post the actual source code, I know that would be much easier to troubleshoot this but this is something I just can not do. Also this needs to be done this way, I need to call to php files on another server so they can do some stuff and then use JS to change some things on another page on another server. This is a content locker, a lot like CPALead and things like that. What am I missing?
