PHP - Xml From Csv With Recurring, Unsorted Values
Hi guys,
long-time reader here and finally have my own question. I have a MySql db from which I get a CSV file that I need in XML. The problem is, the parent nodes appear multiple times in the CSV and so do other values. Let me give you a quick overview of what the data I have looks like, and the XML of what I need to achieve as output. CSV: FR,FRANCE,CITY002,A,CITY000,B,CITY001,C,CODE1,NAME1 DE,GERMANY,CITY004,D,NULL,NULL,NULL,NULL,CODE2,NAME2 FR,FRANCE,CITY003,E,CITY000,B,CITY002,A,CODE3,NAME3 XML: <countries> <country code="FR" name="FRANCE"> <city name="A" code="CITY002"> <hotel name="NAME1" code="CODE1" /> <hotel name="NAME3" code="CODE3"/> </city> <city name="B" code="CITY000"> <hotel name="NAME1" code="CODE1" /> <hotel name="NAME3" code="CODE3"/> </city> <city name="C" code="CITY001"> <hotel name="NAME1" code="CODE1" /> </city> <city name="E" code="CITY003"> <hotel name="NAME3" code="CODE3"/> </city> </country> <country code="DE" name="GERMANY"> <city name="E" code="CITY003"> <hotel name="NAME2" code="CODE2" /> </city> </country> </countries> Now I know it looks kinda complicated because the context isn't immediately obvious, but if it wasn't, I wouldn't be posting here I started using file() to get each line into an array and then used explode() in a loop to generate new arrays. The only thing where I am struggling is going back and adding cities to countries but not duplicating them. If a city (or country) already exists, then I should just add to the parent node. Not sure if anyone even understands this as, reading over it again, not even I do but if you have any questions that may clarify the issue, let me know. I'm probably just looking for a way to create a multidimensional arrays, using the parent node as an index or something like that. Thanks, Daniel Similar Tutorials

I am trying to figure out why paypal recurring payment always shows as Pending when I use my following code?
this is a very basic HTML form which i use for recurring payment in paypal. but when the users sign up using the following code, the payment status shows as "PENDING"!

When I run a query to pull user information, when the user has multiple sites to his or her name, its adds the second / third sites to the next columns, rather than wrapping it inside the same table cell. It also works the opposite way, if a piece of data is missing in the database and is blank, its pull the following columns in. Both cases mess up the table and formatting. I'm extremely new to any kind of programming and maybe this isn't the forum for this question but figured I'd give it a chance since I'm stuck. I have a multi dimensional array that looks like (see below); the array is created by CodeIgniter's database library (the rows returned from a select query) but I think this is a generic PHP question as opposed to having anything to do with CI because it related to working with arrays. I'm wondering how I might go about searching the array below for the key problem_id and a value equal to a variable which I would provide. Then, when it finds an array with a the matching key and variable, it outputs the other values in that part of the array too. For example, using the sample data below. How would you recommend that I search the array for all the arrays that have the key problem_id and the value 3 and then have it output the value of the key problem_update_date and the value of the key problem_update_text. I think the more I read on the PHP and MySQL website manual, the more stupid I have become... Using Google to seach "how to get the SUM of Current Date" only showes me how to enter the current date on a webpage or in a table row, not how to SUM the values of a table of the current day. I also want to have a PHP graph (I have PHPgraphLIB now) on another page, and control the graph images by using a simple "Date Picker" or calendar, but that ran into the same type of issues as anything I write does not generate or show the results. I have a few database values from a user entry. The page queries the database and I can print them no problem. I want to add them and display the total of these values. I've tried about two dozen ways of doing and I just can't get them to add. Where I have "fee_total" I want it to be the sum of the values "fee+upgrade7+tax". Like I said, the values are already there but the math isn't happening. To check I tried using individual DB values instead of "total_fee" and the numbers show up. Just cannot get them to add. I'm working on a small project that requires a user login function. There's only going to be about 10 members in the database. I've followed a tutorial of how to make a login system. I've never really worked with sessions before, but I did some research and get the general concept of them. What I want to do is store the user's username in a session when they log in, so I can run queries and such later specific to that user. How would I do that? I was able to manually set a session, but I need to set the session equal to what their username is on login. I've tried doing that below, but I don't think it's working. Either that, or I'm not calling the session correctly in the other page where I want to display their username. I often use a $_GET variable as in mypage.php?id=variable to selecting records to view etc. I usually convert this to a variable to be used in a WHERE statement. Or better yet, if visiting Quote http://www.mypage.com/page.php?id=0';DELETE%20*%20FROM%20CONTENT;'SELECT%20*%20FROM%20CONTENT%20WHERE%20ID='0 resulted in all content being deleted. Is that even possible in the in the context of a MySQL WHERE statement? Seems like the MySQL statement wouldn't be structured correctly and wouldn't work. I use mysqli_real_escape_string" on posted content but should I also escape all GET input? |
