PHP - Extracting And Chmod
Similar TutorialsI basically have a picture uploading system for users. I have two questions: 1) What CHMOD should I use for the folders that are there for uploading files to? Currently it is 755, but I want it to be accessible and safe. 2) When I use the standard mkdir() function to create folders in my main parent folder, the folders don't get created. Is this because my parent folder is CHMOD 755? Thanks I'm having a problem setting file permissions. The only way i can see to do this looking at the list of array functions is i need to random a key first? and then return the value assigned to the random key i just generated? A user has an order form on our website with a field to paste the URL of a website in; 2. The user visits an external website page, which includes an image; 3. The user copies the URL out of the address bar, goes back to our website and pastes the link into the order form; 4. The user clicks next, and this extracts the image from the external website and uploads it to our website so the image can be seen alongside the order. My questions a a. Can this be done? b. If it can't physically download the image and copy to my web server, can I read the html source of the external website and grab the full URL to use to show the image on my website? I have the following string for example which is stored in a variable called $var. So I am using the following code to do so: $ref_num = preg_replace("/.*?\[ref\=(.*?)\]\[\/ref\].*?/is", "$1", $var); The only problem is, I can omit the text before the integer and the tags themselves but I still get the text after the [/ref] section and I cannot get rid of it. It seems my .*? placed after it doesn't work like it does at the beginning. Can anyone offer any help at all, it will be greatly appreciated - I'm fairly new to using Preg_replace so I still don't know how best to form Regular Expressions. Here's what I did - because I know the integer is never going to be more than 5 characters long, I used the replace from before but added a substring like so. $ref = substr(preg_replace("/.*?\[ref\=(.*?)\]\[\/ref\]/is", "$1", $var),0,5); This grabbed the first 5 characters whether it was a number or not, then I used this to strip any non-numerical characters.
