PHP - Pdf Files In Mysql
Hey guys,
I am not sure if this is the right place for this question but here goes: I saved a bunch of pdf files in a MEDIUMBLOB format in a database, and now I want to be able to open/read them and trigger a Print Dialog to print them by simply clicking a link. Is that possible? Thanks in advance Similar TutorialsHello I have a simple question about file handling... Is it possible to list all files in directories / subdirectories, and then read ALL files in those dirs, and put the content of their file into an array? Like this: array: [SomePath/test.php] = "All In this php file is being read by a new smart function!"; [SomePath/Weird/hello.txt = "Hello world. This is me and im just trying to get some help!";and so on, until no further files exists in that rootdir. All my attempts went totally crazy and none of them works... therefore i need to ask you for help. Do you have any ideas how to do this? If so, how can I be able to do it? Thanks in Advance, pros So far I have managed to create an upload process which uploads a picture, updates the database on file location and then tries to upload the db a 2nd time to update the Thumbnails file location (i tried updating the thumbnails location in one go and for some reason this causes failure) But the main problem is that it doesn't upload some files Here is my upload.php <?php include 'dbconnect.php'; $statusMsg = ''; $Title = $conn -> real_escape_string($_POST['Title']) ; $BodyText = $conn -> real_escape_string($_POST['ThreadBody']) ; // File upload path $targetDir = "upload/"; $fileName = basename($_FILES["file"]["name"]); $targetFilePath = $targetDir . $fileName; $fileType = pathinfo($targetFilePath,PATHINFO_EXTENSION); $Thumbnail = "upload/Thumbnails/'$fileName'"; if(isset($_POST["submit"]) && !empty($_FILES["file"]["name"])){ // Allow certain file formats $allowTypes = array('jpg','png','jpeg','gif','pdf', "webm", "mp4"); if(in_array($fileType, $allowTypes)){ // Upload file to server if(move_uploaded_file($_FILES["file"]["tmp_name"], $targetFilePath)){ // Insert image file name into database $insert = $conn->query("INSERT into Threads (Title, ThreadBody, filename) VALUES ('$Title', '$BodyText', '$fileName')"); if($insert){ $statusMsg = "The file ".$fileName. " has been uploaded successfully."; $targetFilePathArg = escapeshellarg($targetFilePath); $output=null; $retval=null; //exec("convert $targetFilePathArg -resize 300x200 ./upload/Thumbnails/'$fileName'", $output, $retval); exec("convert $targetFilePathArg -resize 200x200 $Thumbnail", $output, $retval); echo "REturned with status $retval and output:\n" ; if ($retval == null) { echo "Retval is null\n" ; echo "Thumbnail equals $Thumbnail\n" ; } }else{ $statusMsg = "File upload failed, please try again."; } }else{ $statusMsg = "Sorry, there was an error uploading your file."; } }else{ $statusMsg = 'Sorry, only JPG, JPEG, PNG, GIF, mp4, webm & PDF files are allowed to upload.'; } }else{ $statusMsg = 'Please select a file to upload.'; } //Update SQL db by setting the thumbnail column to equal $Thumbnail $update = $conn->query("update Threads set thumbnail = '$Thumbnail' where filename = '$fileName'"); if($update){ $statusMsg = "Updated the thumbnail to sql correctly."; echo $statusMsg ; } else { echo "\n Failed to update Thumbnail. Thumbnail equals $Thumbnail" ; } // Display status message echo $statusMsg; ?> And this does work on most files however it is not working on a 9.9mb png file which is named "test.png" I tested on another 3.3 mb gif file and that failed too? For some reason it returns the following Updated the thumbnail to sql correctly.Updated the thumbnail to sql correctly. Whereas on the files it works on it returns REturned with status 0 and output: Retval is null Thumbnail equals upload/Thumbnails/'rainbow-trh-stache.gif' Failed to update Thumbnail. Thumbnail equals upload/Thumbnails/'rainbow-trh-stache.gif'The file rainbow-trh-stache.gif has been uploaded successfully. Any idea on why this is? I am using WPSQT plugin in my blog site .I code some files in PHP also.how to add that files in plugin files.
create table mimi (mimiId int(11) not null, mimiBody varchar(255) ); <?php //connecting to database include_once ('conn.php'); $sql ="SELECT mimiId, mimiBody FROM mimi"; $result = mysqli_query($conn, $sql ); $mimi = mysqli_fetch_assoc($result); $mimiId ='<span>No: '.$mimi['mimiId'].'</span>'; $mimiBody ='<p class="leading text-justify">'.$mimi['mimiBody'].'</p>'; ?> //what is next? i want to download pdf or text document after clicking button or link how to do that Hello everyone, Sorry if this has been answered but if it has I can't find it anywhere. So, from the begining then. Lets say I had a member table and in it I wanted to store what their top 3 interests are. Their$ row has all the usual things to identify them userID and password etc.. and I had a further 3 columns which were labled top3_1 top3_2 & top3_3 to put each of their interests in from a post form. If instead I wanted to store this data as a PHP Array instead (using 1 column instead of 3) is there a way to store it as readable data when you open the PHPmyadmin? At the moment all it says is array and when I call it back to the browser (say on a page where they could review and update their interests) it displays 'a' as top3_01 'r' as top3_02 and 'r' as top3_03 (in each putting what would be 'array' as it appears in the table if there were 5 results. Does anyone know what I mean? For example - If we had a form which collected the top 3 interests to put in a table called users, Code: [Select] <form action="back_to_same_page_for_processing.php" method="post" enctype="multipart/form-data"> <input name="top3_01" type="text" value="enter interest number 1 here" /> <input name="top3_02" type="text" value="enter interest number 2 here" /> <input name="top3_03" type="text" value="enter interest number 3 here" /> <input type="submit" name="update_button" value=" Save and Update! " /> </form> // If my quick code example for this form is not correct dont worry its not the point im getting at :) And they put 'bowling' in top3_01, 'running' in top3_02 and 'diving' in top3_03 and we catch that on the same page with some PHP at the top --> Code: [Select] if (isset($_POST)['update_button']) { $top3_01 = $_POST['top3_01']; // i.e, 'bowling' changing POST vars to local vars $top3_02 = $_POST['top3_02']; // i.e, 'running' $top3_03 = $_POST['top3_03']; // i.e, 'diving' With me so far? If I had a table which had 3 columns (1 for each interest) I could put something like - Code: [Select] include('connect_msql.php'); mysql_query("Select * FROM users WHERE id='$id' AND blah blah blah"); mysql_query("UPDATE users SET top3_01='$top3_01', top3_02='$top3_02', top3_03='$top3_03' WHERE id='$id'"); And hopefully if ive got it right, it will put them each in their own little column. Easy enough huh? But heres the thing, I want to put all these into an array to be stored in the 1 column (say called 'top3') and whats more have them clearly readable in PHPmyadmin and editable from there yet still be able to be called back an rendered on page when requested. Continuing the example then, assuming ive changed the table for the 'top3' column instead of individual colums, I could put something like this - Code: [Select] if (isset($_POST)['update_button']) { $top3_01 = $_POST['top3_01']; // i.e, 'bowling' changing POST vars to local vars $top3_02 = $_POST['top3_02']; // i.e, 'running' $top3_03 = $_POST['top3_03']; // i.e, 'diving' $top3_array = array($top3_01,$top3_02,$top3_03); include('connect_msql.php'); mysql_query("UPDATE members SET top3='$top3_array' WHERE id='$id' AND blah blah blah"); But it will appear in the column as 'Array' and when its called for using a query it will render the literal string. a r r in each field instead. Now I know you can use the 'serialize()' & 'unserialize()' funtcions but it makes the entry in the database practically unreadable. Is there a way to make it readable and editable without having to create a content management system? If so please let me know and I'll be your friend forever, lol, ok maybe not but I'd really appreciate the help anyways. The other thing is, If you can do this or something like it, how am I to add entries to that array to go back into the data base? I hope ive explained myself enough here, but if not say so and I'll have another go. Thanks very much people, L-PLate (P.s if I sort this out on my own ill post it all here) I have told that the php files I was working on contains BOM by default cause of the editor I m using. I have installed other editor that can create php files without BOM. So my question is what's the difference between 2 files, one with BOM and other without BOM ? Any problems I may face for long term usage ? Which one is better to use ? lets say I own a file, and you own a file, both these files are the exact same file, the only difference is the filename. So lets say we both have The Gimp 2.6 but one is named TG2.6.exe and the other is named the_Gimp-2.6.exe. What would be the best way to count the files that are the same even if they have a different file name? Another example would be: I have a file called me.jpg and someone else has a file me.jpg but they are two completely different pictures. What would I do to tell that? Hey, Trying to learn to generate PDF files, something apparently WAAAAYYY more complex than I thought. Can someone please give me an explanation on '$optlist' from this function..... PDF_load_image ( resource $pdfdoc , string $imagetype , string $filename , string $optlist ) What is it? PHP.net doesn't have any info at all. Thanks, IceKat. BTW - Any (recent) tutorials or pages would be appreciated. Everything I find is out of date or doesn't work. first of all...its good to see the site back .
my question guys is i'm wondering is there a way of getting the column number when reading a .cvs file?
ie. a, b, c, d, aa, ab etc?
$row = 1; if (($handle = fopen($file, "r")) !== FALSE) { while (($data = fgetcsv($handle, 1000, ",")) !== FALSE) { $num = count($data); echo "<p> $num fields in line $row: <br /></p>\n"; $row++; for ($c=0; $c < $num; $c++) { //echo $data[$c] . "<br />\n"; } } fclose($handle); }now $num counts the columns...but i want to convert that into a alphabetical column...is there a easy solution? thanks guys Hi, (Just wanna say thanks to the guy who helped me earlier as i cannot find the topic) I have a game, it has 3 frames, menu, header & the main content, it WAS fine until i deleted a 4th frame, now when i click a link from the menu, instead of showing the link in the 'Main' content area, it takes you to the actual page with no menu, header etc. Thanks in advance! I have a section where users can upload documents into our software. The code itself is a couple years old and could perhaps use some updating, but it seems some of the files (at this time it only seems to be *.pdf) that have been uploaded are not able to be opened and the error "the file is damaged and could not be repaired" is being displayed as an "Adobe Reader" error in Internet Explorer 8. The largest concern is that it is an irreversible error and many of the documents users have uploaded are now corrupt. I can't seem to find any relevant information from Google (or Adobe) that does anything towards resolving the problem. Note: This does not happen on every .pdf, and I am not sure if there is a common bond between the failing documents (trying to find this now). Hi All
I have a a directory website but numereous listings don't have their own website so they are requesting a single page to show a summary of their business and products.
I know how to do most of it the part I am unsure of is:
I have a form where they upload text, images, etc to a database and upload the images. what I would like to do is to save it as a file under a subdirectory. Is it possible to save a file php file using php
Thank you in advance
Lional
Hello, I'd like to make an array preferably multidimensional from files what are in subdirectory. Here is a code what I wrote but I doesn't work well becouse I wanted to load that string into javascript array..but it didnt work becouse it had some special characters.. Code: [Select] $dir = opendir('f'); if($dir) { $result = ""; while (($file = readdir($dir)) !== false ) { if(strpbrk($file, 'mp3')) { $result = $result ."{ Track name: \"$file\", location: \"f/$file\" },<br/>"; } } echo $result; } First what are the possible $_FILES['file']['type'] s of .zip. I know one is "application/x-zip-compressed" but are there any others (basically I need to check if the uploaded file is a .zip? Second question; how could I extract the contents of .zip to a directory on the server without the use of FTP? Thanks Hi, I have songs that I have uploaded. There are tracks in each song. So I want my users to click download and they'll be able to download all of the tracks combined in a zip file. I have seen this hapening on several sites. Can any body tell me how that works using PHP codes / classes Regards, Faisal im trying to make a program that changes some files from 0 to 1,but im having some trouble... heres my code, Code: [Select] $id = $_GET["id"]; $file1 = "http://mysite.co.cc/users/".$id."/file1.txt"; $fh = fopen($file1, 'w'); fwrite($fh, "1"); fclose($fh); I followed this tut: http://www.tizag.com/phpT/filewrite.php I cant find anything wrong with the code, but it will not make the file have 1 in it. I've searched around the internet and can't find a good method to do this. To start, I have a database with a field called 'fpath' that stores the filepath (root-relative) to uploaded PDF's. In this case, they're scanned personnel files. What I'd like to do is be able to download relevant PDF's based on a generated report... such as all PDF's of a certain category or all PDF's for a certain user. If there's a specific PEAR package or other script out there that you know works well, I can research it on my own.. but each search result is bringing up a different method to do it, which makes me nervous. Thanks! hello all, i moved my inhouse website to a hosting company. now i have a few files that i used to upload data to the website, but every time i try uploading it gives me this error. Warning: move_uploaded_file(..\pdfs\htdocs\pdfs\citysect/03152011CCRM.pdf) [function.move-uploaded-file]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /data/26/2/13/16/2502179/user/2740540/htdocs/loginscripts/uploadpdf.php on line 34 Warning: move_uploaded_file() [function.move-uploaded-file]: Unable to move '/data/20/tmp_new/php2GMXs3' to '..\pdfs\htdocs\pdfs\citysect/03152011CCRM.pdf' in /data/26/2/13/16/2502179/user/2740540/htdocs/loginscripts/uploadpdf.php on line 34 could not moved can anyone help me? Hi, I have a script which uses a connect file but I am struggling to get files in other folders to read and for the "$loggedIn = checkLogin();" code to work. If I connect to the database within the same script it works straight away. If I change my password then I have to change every file but otherwise I cannot include the connect file as I have to link to it locally. So if the connect file is in: www.domain.co.uk/php/login/connect.php then www.domain.co.uk/php/login/index.php -- this works www.domain.co.uk/php/logout.php -- this doesn't regardless of how I link to the connect file. |
